Some companies add vegetable fats to their chocolate to save money. In fact some chocolates contain vegetable fats (known as CBE) up to 5%. Theses CBEs are often not even listed on the ingredients statement! We choose not to do this because we think this isn't pure, ethical or good tasting. I am addicted to making a chocolate protein smoothie every morning with one of our cocoa powder varieties. If I need an energy boost I add a couple tablespoons of our cocoa nibs to the blender along with a cup of ice, one banana, one cup of milk and 24 grams of whey protein isolate for a low glycemic, high protein, fat burning morning breakfast.
