How to Make Chocolate Chip Pancakes?

Nothing better for a Sunday breakfast than a large tower of warm fluffy homemade Chocolate Chip Pancakes. Here you will have two recipes to make perfect chocolate pancakes for chocolate lovers. Use these easy recipes on any occasion.

Pancakes exist all over the world with different names, For example in Japan pancakes are called “okonomiyaki” and in Wales they are called “crempog”. Some like to eat them with sweet toppings like jam, chocolate, whipped cream; others rather eat them with savory toppings like different kinds of cheeses, ham, cream cheese. Like crepes, pancakes are versatile.

Chocolate Chip Pancake Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup of Dark Chocolate, but milk chocolate or white chocolate are great options also.
  • 1 cup of all purpose flour
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tbsp of butter, melted
  • 2 tbsp of sugar
  • ½ tbsp of vanilla extract
  • A pinch of salt
  • Chocolate syrup to decorate

Instructions for making chocolate chip pancakes:

  • In a large bowl, add your previously sifted all purpose flour and incorporate both the sugar and salt.
  • Whisk the ingredients a little bit and pour your melted butter.
  • Add the egg and start whisking.
  • Now it is time to pour the vanilla extract. You can skip this ingredient but I recommend it because it brings a lot of flavor to the mixture.
  • Add the cup of milk. Use your favorite kind, skim milk, powdered milk, coconut milk, almond milk…
  • Whisk all really well until you get a smooth batter. You can do this with a hand whisk, an electric mixer or even in the blender.
  • Over medium heat, place a bit of butter or oil in a skillet. Wait until the butter melts or the oil gets really hot.
  • Pour around three or four spoonfuls of batter into the middle of the skillet.
  • Wait around 2 min and add some chocolate chips, wait until the border gets crispy and flip the pancake, cook for 2 minutes more and serve it gently. Be careful with the chocolate chips, we don’t want them completely melted.
  • Serve them warm and drizzle chocolate syrup on top. I recommend using homemade syrup but any will work!

Chocolate Chip Banana Pancakes | Extra Fluffy Pancake Recipe

These fluffy pancakes are going to be your new favorite, especially as a chocolate chip banana pancake. They are rich in flavor, soft and fluffy like a cloud. Normal pancakes are delicious but these are perfect for chocolate lovers.

This recipe calls for bananas but you can make them with other fruits like strawberries or blueberries. Same with the chocolate, if you don't have chocolate chips on hand just replace with dark chocolate chunks; the chunks will melt and you will still have the chocolate flavor present in your pancakes.

I recommend using high quality chocolate for your recipes. These pancakes have Organic Dark Chocolate from Santa Barbara Chocolate. If you rather have milk chocolate, I recommend choosing the Milk Chocolate Couverture from the Santa Barbara Chocolate brand. If you want extra chocolate on your plate pour chocolate syrup on top or add any chocolate spread.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup of all purpose flour
  • 1 cup of mashed bananas
  • 1 cup of Organic Dark Chocolate
  • 1 egg
  • ½ cup of buttermilk
  • 2 tbsp of butter, melted
  • 1 tsp of vanilla extract
  • A pinch of salt
  • Instructions For Making Chocolate Chip Banana Pancakes - Extra Fluffy Pancakes:

    1. In a large bowl, add your previously sifted all purpose flour and salt.

    2. In a separate bowl, mix your buttermilk, egg, melted butter and vanilla extract. Make sure your melted butter is not hot.

    3. Combine both mixtures and stir until you get an even batter with no lumps.

    4. Smash your bananas and add them to the pancake batter. It is recommended to use ripe bananas to take advantage of their sweetness.

    5. Take a skillet and add a tiny bit of butter.

    6. When the butter melts down, add about 3tbsp of the batter.

    7. Add some Organic Dark Chocolate chips and cover them with another tbsp of batter. Don't forget this last tbsp of batter because if you flip your pancake without covering the chips, they will melt when touching the skillet.

    8. Cook for 2 minutes or until the edges start to get brown.

    9. Flip your pancake and cook for another minute.

    10. Remember to add some butter before each pancake.

    11. Serve them in a tower with your favorite toppings: chocolate spread, fruits, cream, peanut butter, anything you want!
